Fried Shrimp
Ingredients
- 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled & deveined (tails on or off)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk or water
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko (panko = extra crispy)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet to about 350°F (medium-high).
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
- Set up 3 bowls:
- Bowl 1: flour mixed with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder
- Bowl 2: eggs whisked with milk
- Bowl 3: breadcrumbs or panko
- Coat shrimp:
- Dredge in flour
- Dip in egg
- Press into breadcrumbs
- Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
