Warm baked apple fritters

Posted on January 2, 2026 by Admin

Oh yes! Warm Baked Apple Fritters are soft, sweet, and comforting—like a donut but lighter and easier since they’re baked, not fried. Here’s a simple recipe:

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Optional: powdered sugar or glaze for topping

For a simple glaze (optional):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or lemon juice

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a muffin tin or line with parchment paper.

2. Make the Batter

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently until just mixed.
  4. Fold in the diced apples.

3. Bake

  1. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about ¾ full.
  2. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

4. Glaze and Serve

  1. Optional: mix powdered sugar with a little milk or lemon juice to make a glaze.
  2. Drizzle over warm fritters or dust with extra cinnamon sugar.
  3. Serve warm for the softest, most comforting texture.

Tips & Variations:

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for extra fall flavor.
  • You can sprinkle a mix of sugar + cinnamon on top before baking for a slightly crunchy finish.
  • Swap half the milk for apple juice for a fruitier flavor.

If you like, I can also give you a quick skillet version that’s ready in 15 minutes—crispy outside, soft inside, no oven needed.

Do you want me to do that?
