🍝🐔 Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken & Linguine in Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients (serves 4)

For the Chicken

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips or bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)

For the Alfredo Sauce

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, enhances flavor)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: ½ tsp Italian seasoning or fresh parsley

For the Pasta

  • 12 oz linguine or fettuccine
  • Salt for pasta water

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Pasta

  1. Boil linguine in salted water according to package directions until al dente.
  2. Drain, reserving ½ cup of pasta water, and set aside.

2️⃣ Cook the Chicken

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter over medium-high heat.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side (or until golden and cooked through).
  4. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.

3️⃣ Make the Garlic Butter Alfredo Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt 4 tbsp butter over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to low and gradually stir in Parmesan until smooth.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and Italian seasoning (if using).
  6. If sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.

4️⃣ Combine Pasta, Chicken, and Sauce

  • Add cooked linguine to the Alfredo sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  • Return chicken to the skillet and mix gently to combine.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Plate the creamy chicken linguine and garnish with fresh parsley or extra Parmesan.
  • Serve hot with garlic bread or a side salad.

🧄 Tips & Variations

  • Extra creamy: Add ½ cup cream cheese for richer sauce.
  • Add veggies: Sauté mushrooms, spinach, or broccoli with the garlic before adding cream.
  • Lighter version: Substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
  • Spicy kick: Sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes into the sauce.
  • Make-ahead: Cook chicken and pasta separately; reheat in the sauce when ready to serve.

If you want, I can also provide a one-pan version where you cook the chicken, pasta, and sauce all in the same skillet for even faster cleanup.

Do you want me to do that?
