Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots are the perfect easy appetizer—crispy, salty, smoky, and totally addictive. You only need a few ingredients, and they bake up beautifully in the oven or air fryer. Here’s a simple, delicious recipe!

Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots

Ingredients:

  • 24–32 frozen tater tots
  • 12–16 slices of bacon (cut each slice in half)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional but highly recommended)
  • 1/2–1 tsp chili powder or cayenne (optional, for a sweet–spicy kick)
  • Toothpicks (optional, but helpful for holding them together)

Instructions (Oven Method):

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Heat to 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and place a baking rack on top (helps crisp the bacon).
  2. Prepare the Bacon:
    • Cut each bacon slice in half.
    • Mix the brown sugar and chili powder in a shallow bowl if using.
  3. Wrap the Tots:
    • Wrap each tater tot with a half slice of bacon.
    • Roll in the brown sugar mixture (optional but amazing).
    • Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. Bake:
    • Place the wrapped tots on the baking rack seam-side down.
    • Bake 20–25 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and tots are golden.
  5. Serve:
    • Let cool a couple of minutes and serve hot with dipping sauces like:
      • Ranch
      • Spicy mayo
      • BBQ sauce
      • Sriracha ketchup

Air Fryer Method:

  1. Spray the basket lightly with oil.
  2. Cook at 390°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
  3. Cook in batches if needed so they crisp up properly.

Tips & Variations:

  • Cheesy version: Insert a tiny cube of cheddar inside the tot before wrapping.
  • Sweet & spicy: Use brown sugar + cayenne.
  • Glaze: Brush with a little maple syrup in the last 5 minutes of baking.
  • Extra crispy: Bake directly on a wire rack so the bacon crisps evenly.
