Here’s a classic Chocolate Chip Banana Bread—moist, tender, and loaded with melty chocolate. Easy and hard to mess up 🍌🍫

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Makes: 1 loaf
Time: ~1 hour 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup melted butter (or neutral oil)
  • ¾ cup sugar (white or half white / half brown)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix wet ingredients
    In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients
    Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture, stir in.
    Gently fold in flour just until combined.
  4. Add chocolate chips
    Fold in chocolate chips (save a few for the top if you like).
  5. Bake
    Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle extra chips on top if desired.
    Bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool
    Let cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra moist: Use ½ cup brown sugar instead of white
  • Healthier swap: Replace half the flour with whole wheat
  • Nutty: Add ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Cinnamon boost: Add ½ tsp cinnamon
