🧀 Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients (1 sandwich)

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
  • 1–2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 2–3 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, mozzarella, or a mix)

1. Prep the bread

  • Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • The buttered side will be the outside that touches the pan (for browning).

2. Assemble

  • Place cheese slices between the unbuttered sides of the bread.
  • The buttered sides should face out.

3. Cook

  • Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2–4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip and cook the other side another 2–3 minutes, until the cheese melts.

4. Serve

  • Let it rest 1 minute and slice in half.
