Here’s a simple, crispy-on-the-edges sliced baked potatoes recipe that never lets you down—great as a side or snack.


🥔 Sliced Baked Potatoes

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 medium potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold work best)
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika or garlic powder (optional)
  • Optional toppings: chopped parsley, grated cheese, sour cream

Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
  • Lightly grease or line a baking tray

2. Slice the Potatoes

  • Wash and scrub potatoes
  • Slice into ¼-inch (½ cm) thick rounds
  • Pat dry with a paper towel (helps them crisp)

3. Season

  • In a bowl, toss potato slices with oil/butter, salt, pepper, and any spices
  • Make sure every slice is coated

4. Bake

  • Arrange slices in a single layer on the tray
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then flip
  • Bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and tender

5. Serve

  • Sprinkle with parsley or cheese if desired
  • Serve hot with sour cream, ketchup, or garlic mayo

  • Don’t overcrowd the tray—use two trays if needed
  • For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2–3 minutes
  • Yukon Gold = creamier inside, Russet = crispier edges

Easy Variations

  • Cheesy: sprinkle cheddar or parmesan during the last 5 minutes
  • Garlic butter: brush with melted butter + minced garlic after baking
  • Herb: add rosemary or thyme before baking
