Here’s a classic Tuna Fish Sandwich recipe—simple, creamy, and satisfying.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 1 can (5 oz / 140g) tuna in water, drained
  • 2–3 tbsp mayonnaise (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1–2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped (optional for crunch)
  • 1 small dill pickle, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or your choice)
  • Lettuce or tomato slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tuna filling
    • In a bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, celery, and pickle.
    • Mix until creamy and well combined.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Assemble the sandwich
    • Spread the tuna mixture evenly onto 2 slices of bread.
    • Add lettuce or tomato if desired.
    • Top with the remaining slices of bread.
  3. Serve
    • Cut diagonally and serve immediately.

Tips:

  • For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
  • Add a pinch of paprika or a few chopped capers for extra flavor.
  • Toasting the bread adds crunch and enhances the flavor.

I can also give a tuna melt version with melted cheese on top if you want a warm, gooey sandwich. Do you want that?
